Which are good questions. It seems to me the decision was the right one,


but it's not perfect. It'll always be an awkward fit deciding contemporary cases involving technology considering when the Constitution was written, and the lack of work updating laws.

But with respect to sharing information with 3rd parties... you'd have to go full luddite hermit to avoid that in today's world, rendering protections under the 4th Amendment worthless.
